Monday TV Wrap: Queen’s Birthday Puts Bums On Seats For Networks

Yesterday’s Queen’s Birthday public holiday and icy weather in the eastern states has resulted in plenty of eyeballs for the networks last night.

Seven won Monday with 29.7 per cent audience share, Nine had 25.3 per cent, Ten pulled 21.2 per cent, the ABC had 16.7 per cent and SBS pulled 7.1 per cent.

In the battle of the reality shows, MasterChef (885,000) nudged out House Rules (861,000).

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin was the most watched show of the night with 1.28 million and saw off rival Nine’s bulletin that pulled 1.02 million. A Current Affair had 754,000.

Meanwhile, Seven’s The Mentor continues to struggle, pulling just 421,000.

Nine’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation had 592,000 and The Big Bang Theory had 503,000.

MasterChef aside, Ten’s best was Have You Been Paying Attention? with 790,000, while The Project was vastly improved with 625,000.

The ABC’s Monday night of current affairs went thus: ABC News (782,000), Back Roads (640,000)7:30 (578,000), Four Corners (516,000), Media Watch (515,000) and Q&A (340,000).

For SBS, its best for the night was The Queen’s Favourite Animals which still proved a bit of a dog, managing only 233,000.
