Shop A Docket gets behind Clean Up Australia Day

Shop A Docket is supporting Clean Up Australia Day on March 3 through the printing and national distribution of more than 60 million coupons on the back of shopping receipts and online.

Advertisements for Clean Up Day began appearing in supermarket printers last week, across 2,450 supermarkets and variety stores.

This is the 15th year that Shop A Docket has supported the campaign.

CEO of Clean Up Australia, Ms Terrie-Ann Johnson, said: “The partnership generates increased awareness around the date of the Clean Up and encourages people to register and actively support the activities around the nation.

“Shop A Docket is, and always has been, incredibly supportive. As a non-profit we couldn’t afford to raise the substantial funds needed to commit to such a huge advertising campaign.”

With more than 750,000 expected to register at 8,000 collection sites across the country, this year’s Clean Up Day is tipped to see more than last year’s 16,346 tonnes of rubbish collected.

Bob Jurkschat GM, marketing Shop A Docket , said: “As one of the largest consumers of thermal paper in Australia, Shop A Docket has always held the belief that using both sides of shopping receipts encourages consumers to positively reuse or repurpose their receipts, and is one of the reasons we support Clean Up Australia.”
