Gruen and Ja'mie lift the ABC

The ABC had another strong ratings night on Thursday, as The Gruen Planet and Ja’mie: Private School Girl continue to pull in viewers.

The Gruen Planet was viewed by 1.004 million people last night and sat in third place, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

Ja’mie: Private School Girl sat in fourth place with 880,000 viewers.

Ja’mie pulled in slightly less viewers than her first outing for the year which won over 924,000 viewers last week.

Nine overtook Seven in the ratings race, taking a total 28.8% share of all free-to-air viewers head o f Seven’s 26.7%.

Big Brother pulled in 842,000 viewers for Nine while Hostages wooed 642,000.

Nine won the battle for news viewers with Nine News, the evenings most watched program, pulling in 1.027 million people compared to Seven News’ 1.015 million.

Seven had four top 20 shows: Seven News, Today Tonight (864,000), Home and Away (820,000) and Slideshow (626,000).

Ten’s The Bachelor sat in 11th place with 649,000 viewers. It was Ten’s most watched show with The Project (481,000), Ten Eyewitness News (584,000) and The Bold and the Beautiful (448,000) also in the top 20.

Ten sat on a total 19.2% share with 12.5% going to its main channel. Seven’s primary channel took 17% while Nine’s won 20%.

The ABC took a combined 20.7% with 15.3% for ABC1. SBS won 4.6% with 4.1% for SBS One.
