“Sorry, We’re French!” Sky News Hilariously Interviews Wrong Passenger On Wrong Flight Following Qantas Incident

Qantas’ brand reputation as the world’s safest airline took a bit of a hit yesterday when a flight from Auckland to Sydney was forced to make a mayday call after one of the plane’s engines apparently failed.

Fearing the worst, a flotilla of ambulances, fire engines and, of course, news crews raced to Sydney Airport to capture the plane’s potentially dramatic runaway landing.

Thankfully, it landed safely without incident.

Clearly keen not to waste a good taxi fare, Sky News reporter Gabriella Power decided to interview passengers as they arrived in the terminal on their experience on the troubled flight.

The reporter is filmed vox popping a very confused Frenchman, asking: “Were you on the flight from Auckland which had the engine failure?”

The baffled chap responded: “I do not understand what you are asking to me.”

He then revealed that he hadn’t even been on the Auckland flight but, instead, had flown in from New Caledonia.

“Bad luck for you!’ he responded with a bemused laugh.
