Smith’s Chips Teams With Subway, Red Rooster & Mad Mex For Icons Range
Australia’s most iconic chip brand Smith’s has teamed up with three iconic and beloved restaurants – Subway, Red Rooster and Mad Mex to bring Aussies the new Smith’s Taste Icons range. Launching in stores across Australia throughout the month of January, the new range will allow foodies to enjoy their favourite flavours in chip form.
Bringing new epic flavours to life on Smith’s iconic crinkle cut chip, the Smith’s Taste Icons range is an iconic collaboration packed with iconic flavours.
Available for a limited time only in supermarkets from January, the new range comes in five flavours:
· Smith’s x Subway Crinkle Meatball Sub 150G (exclusive to Coles)
· Smith’s x Subway Crinkle Pizza Sub 150G (exclusive to Woolworths)

With the elevation of its snack game, Smith’s is helping to bring the experience of eating out, directly to chips fans.
Sam O’Donnell, marketing manager at Smith’s said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with three iconic restaurants – Subway, Mad Mex and Red Rooster for the launch of what is our biggest brand collaboration yet.”
“Smith’s is famous for its flavours, so of course we jumped at the opportunity to bring a unique range of flavours to life on our iconic crinkle cut chips.
The new Subway Meatball Sub flavour is reminiscent of the tasty Subway meatball filling and now available in chip form, it is set to be truly delicious.
Subway ANZ head of marketing, Rodica Titeica, said: “Like Subway, Smith’s has been in the hearts of Aussies for many decades and are equally as driven to provide iconic quality and taste.
“Our freshly baked subs are a delicious and filling meal option for breakfast, lunch and dinner but we know there can be key snacking periods in between and partnering with Smith’s allows Aussies to access the Subway flavours they know and love in another form – in potato chips.”
Satisfying Aussies chicken cravings for over 50 years, Australia’s first and favourite chicken shop Red Rooster are now continuing to satisfy those cravings in more ways than one.
Red Rooster marketing director, Ashley Hughes, said “When “The Rooster’s Calling” to satisfy your chicken cravings we answer! That’s why when the opportunity to partner with Smith’s came up, we couldn’t say no! To us, nothing sums up the Rooster’s Call better than our iconic Reds Burger and we can’t wait to share our flavours with Aussies in a new and very craveable way by joining forces with Smith’s and their Taste Icons range.
With their Criminally Good hot sauces “borrowed” from restaurants by fans regularly, Mad Mex are answering customers prayers by teaming up with Smith’s and bringing its flavour to supermarket shelves, for the first time ever.
Mad Mex CEO and founder, Clovis Young, said “Mad Mex and Smith’s are two of the great Australian taste icons. When we were approached by Smith’s to partner on a Mad Mex Hot Sauce infused chip, we jumped at the opportunity. We knew that by combining Smith’s product development expertise and our world-famous Mad Mex hot-sauce, we would come up with something truly special for our amigos. The end result will impress even the toughest of food critics.”
The Taste Icons range is available to purchase from Coles, Woolworths and other independent retailers from January, with Smith’s Subway Meatball Sub flavour available exclusively at Coles.
