Meghan Markle Goes From Princess To Podcaster & The Reviews Are Mixed

Meghan Markle, who famously married Prince Harry, has just dropped the first episode of her podcast, and it needs to be a hit.

Also, full disclaimer, yes, I know Markle was technically only a Duchess! But let me have my fun with a headline occasionally, please.

Now back to the news, Markle famously signed a deal with Spotify that is rumoured to be worth around $15 million. So, there’s a ton of pressure for this podcast to be a hit! Plus, Markle’s animated series just got axed by Netflix.

Anyway, Markle’s Spotify podcast dropped called Archetypes. She even managed to wrangle Serena Williams as her first guest and shared a story about a fire breaking out in her son Archie’s room.

So, clearly, Markle will be sharing personal stories and spilling tea. It will be interesting to see if the podcast resonates with listeners and becomes a hit.

Interestingly, listeners seem to be divided on whether the podcast is fabulous or awful. But mixed reviews aren’t always a bad thing. Criticism can also attract ears.

Of course, Markle’s podcast made headlines long before it dropped, not just because of the eye-watering deal she sealed with Spotify but because Markle was trying to trademark the word Archetypes.

The problem? The word has been around since the 1540s, so it may be pretty hard for her to claim ownership of the word.

It will be interesting to see if Spotify’s bet on Markle pays off.
