FriendlyJordies Weighs In On John Barilaro’s $715,000 Pay Out From Google

John Barilaro has been awarded $715,000 in a defamation case against Google stemming from those infamous FriendlyJordie videos about him.

Naturally, Jordan Shanks (main photo) has already weighed on the matter – and he didn’t hold back.

Barilaro’s defamation case against Google stems from his legal battle with Jordan Shanks, aka friendlyjordies. Originally, Shanks posted two videos about Barilaro on YouTube that Barilaro claimed were defamatory, and that is what kicked off the whole headline-making saga.

However, Barilaro was also suing Google, after Google failed to take Shank’s videos down at Barilaro’s request.

Interestingly, according to SMH, Google had retracted all of its defences over the matter. The $715,000 that Barilaro was just awarded was just to work out how much Google would be ordered to pay the former politician in damages.

The award comes after Barilaro settled his defamation case against Shanks out of court. The case that launched numerous headlines and incited various Twitter threads, came to a surprisingly amicable end.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the ongoing court case between Shanks and Barilaro was resolved. Barilaro agreed to drop charges against Shanks after Shanks agreed to issue an apology and pay over $100,000 in court fees.

It will be interesting to see if Barilaro responds.
