Thursday TV Wrap: The Chase & The Front Bar Prove The Evening’s Hits

Scrolling through last night’s TV numbers and it was Seven’s The Chase and AFL talkfest The Front Bar that proved the evening’s standouts.

The Chase was the most watched entertainment show of the night posting 551,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers. Even beating 10’s MasterChef that could only do 508,000.

Meanwhile, the late night blokey gabfest The Front Bar did an impressive 338,000 considering its time slot and subject matter.

But if you’d thought this gave Seven the night, think again with rival Nine winning Thursday with 28.1 per cent of all of last night’s viewers (all channels). Seven wasn’t far behind with 26.8 per cent. 10 grabbed bronze and 19.1 per cent. That left the ABC with a neat 17 per cent and SBS with an even neater nine per cent.

Seven had to be content with the most watched show of the evening – its 6pm news bulletin pulling 968,000.

Nine’s news did 826,000, ACA had the Devil’s number and 666,000; while Nine’s NRL coverage of the Brisbane-Newcastle game pulled in 362,000.

Another standout for Seven was Home And Away with 461,000.

Over at 10, MasterChef mustered 508,000, The Project did 360,000 and MasterChef Masterclass cooked up to 313,000.

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (601,000), 7.30 (490,000) and Foreign Correspondent (357,000).

And that, friends, is your Thursday TV wrap,
