Optimising has appointed its first general manager, promoting Dan Morrison from within the business and following a string of client wins, including the Good Guys, Nando’s Australia and New Zealand and the Royal Automobile Association of SA.

Morrison has worked alongside Optimising co-founders James Richardson and Daniel Zuccon since early-2018, climbing through the ranks from Project Manager to Operations Manager and now General Manager.

No stranger to web development, SEO and digital production, Morrison has led successful studios in his hometown of Perth, Western Australia and abroad in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for more than a decade of his career. He relocated from Perth to Melbourne in 2018 to take up a role with Optimising and has not looked back.

James Richardson, co-founder of Optimising, said Morrison’s elevation to General Manager allows the agency to ensure that its people, culture and processes are operating smoothly.

“This is the first time Optimising has had a General Manager and it is an important appointment for us in scaling the business. Our business has seen a huge amount of growth in recent times and it is showing no signs of slowing, so we knew it was the right time to create this role,” Richardson said.

“Dan has been with us for a number of years now and he intimately understands the business Daniel and I have built. Dan leads by example and truly understands the Optimising values and our future plans. Having Dan in this role enables us to push the business further without fear we will have to compromise.”

Morrison said working with Zuccon and Richardson had been an incredible experience, and he relished the opportunity provided to him by the co-founders to take on a leadership role.

“Working with Daniel and James seemed like the right fit from day one, working side by side with them, watching the business grow, cultivating a positive culture for our employees, and getting our systems right to scale the business has been an incredible opportunity. I am thrilled to be taking this next step with the team and continuing our hard work into the future,” Morrison said.

Morrison’s appointment is effective immediately.
