The Arrest Of FriendlyJordie’s Producer Kristo Langker May Come Before Police Watchdog

FriendlyJordie’s legal saga finally ended last week, but now the Law Enforcement Commission could review the matter.

If you missed it, John Barilaro has settled his defamation case against Jordan Shanks, aka Friendlyjordies, out of court.

Meanwhile, the Sydney Morning Herald. reported that the police also dropped the charges against Friendlyjordies producer Kristo Langker after he pleaded not guilty to charges of stalking and intimidating NSW Deputy Premier John Bariarlo.

Following Langker’s arrest, he was met with a ton of support, including from ex-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

Basically, their legal woes are over, well, almost. News.com.au has reported that Langker’s arrest could now be assessed via the police’s watchdog.

The assessment would examine the conduct of the police when they arrested Langker. Although, so far, nothing has been formally confirmed.

However, News.com.au reported that Attorney-General Mark Speakman discussed the case in a budget hearing where he said, “I’d expect that if a private citizen has a complaint about that, they will take it to LECC, and if they don’t, then I’ll consider what I might do.

Speakman also clarified he couldn’t offer his personal thoughts on the matter, “I’m not across all the detail, and I’m not required to be.

“I understand impressions that can be given by withdrawing the charges, and I certainly understand the criticism of the police action in that matter.

“I don’t think that as a member of the executive, I should be giving any commentary that hints at whether the LECC should or should not uphold any complaint that is made,” he explained.
