“We Get It, Breakups Are Hard!” Intel Roasted Over Anti-Apple Social Media Campaign
Multinational corporation Intel launched an anti-apple marketing campaign on Twitter, asking, “Confessions of former Mac users. What made you #GoPC?” however, the campaign seemed to backfire.
Judging by Intel’s latest campaigns, tech breakups can apparently be as messy as celebrity breakups. Famously, Apple used Intel’s processors for over fifteen years, before parting ways in 2020. Macbooks are now powered by Apple’s M1 chip instead of Intel’s processors, a decision that Intel is a little salty about, well judging by its latest campaigns.
In early October, Intel released a campaign, “Breaking The Spell” – Where it interviewed loyal Apple consumers and not so subtly pointed out the benefits of PCs. Asking the Apple fans loaded questions, like, “what if you could game more on your Laptop?” or, “what if you could customise your computer?”
At the very least you have to admit, Intel isn’t beating around the bush.
However, Intel didn’t stop there, the corporation has also taken to Twitter, in the anti-apple marketing campaign, “Confessions of former Mac users. What made you #GoPC?”

The thread perhaps didn’t give them the response they wanted, while some users did engage with the thread and share why they stopped using Apple products
Arguably, the majority of users called out Intel for taking shots at Apple, one Twitter user labelled it as, “embarrassing.”
Pretty simple. With Intel no longer making money on Apple products, they want to convert more people to Windows.

Unfortunately for Intel, wider Twitter then caught on and began making fun of the responses Intel was getting to the anti-Apple thread.
