Australia’s Biggest Musicians Get Behind #VaxTheNation Campaign

Some of the biggest names in Australian music have thrown their support behind a new campaign that urges Aussies to get vaccinated and “stop the interruptions”.

The #VaxTheNation campaign, which has gone live today, encapsulates the joy of live music, with dancing crowds and no signs of social distancing.

Powderfinger’s classic My Happiness plays throughout the 60-second campaign, before it is abruptly cut-off with news of lockdowns.

“Stop the interruptions, #vaxthenation” the ad says.

The campaign is the work of the LIVE Alliance (Live Industry Venues and Entertainment).

And while Powderfinger is the main act in the ad itself, a long list of local musicians are pushing the cause.

Amy Shark, Birds of Tokyo, Daryl Braithwaite, Eskimo Joe, peking duk, Hilltop Hoods, Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Archie Roach, Midnight Oil, Y and Z and many others will all be promoting the ad via their platforms.
