“Repeat, This Is Not A Joke!” Adani Releases Climate Action Corporate Video!

Adani – the Indian-based multinational that owns the highly controversial coal mine in Queensland’s Galilee Basin – has jumped on the corporate goodwill bandwagon, releasing a climate activism video.

The one-minute, 20-second video is called “#ican” and, rather than point the blame at corporates for climate inaction, it infers it’s more an individual’s responsibility.

The video also encourages students between 10 and 17 to submit their own “simple and innovative solutions that anyone can adopt in tackling climate change”.

Adani is headquarted in Gujurat in India and has dealings in a number of indusries including mining, energy, infrastructure, logisitics and defence. It was recently named as the biggest owner and contractor of solar farms in the world.

The company recently changed its name in Australia to Bravus Mining & Resources following the outrage towards its local operations.

One of the biggest concerns around its Queensland mine is the effect run-off will have on the Great Barrier Reef. An issue not helped when, back in 2017, the miner was busted dumping polluted stormwater into the sea.

Check out the video below:

Natually, Adani’s attempts to ‘green’ itself have gone down like the proverbial lead (or is that coal?) balloon.

As you’d expect, social media was none too happy about the polluter’s message.

“#ican think of one thing to help stop climate change, but I don’t think Adani’s gonna like it, ” penned one.

Another added: “This is just another cynical, stealth version of  ‘socialise the losses, privatise the profits'”.

“How about corporate esponsibilities & solutions?” tweeted another.
