Thursday TV Wrap: Viewers Rack The Cue As Non-Ratings Sets In

TV ratings season finishes today and if last night’s OzTAM numbers are any indication, viewers are already turning to Netflix for their summer solstice.

News programs were the pick of the night, taking the top five most-watched shows of the evening.

Best of the entertainment shows was Home And Away that just fell over the half-a-million mark with 501,000 (OzTAM metro numbers).

Seven won the night with 29.6 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Nine did 25.7 per cent, the ABC stole third and 17.9 per cent to 10’s 17.8 per cent. SBS had 8.9 per cent.

Seven’s evening ran this way: 6pm news (867,000), Home And Away (501,000), The Chase (422,000) and The Front Bar (274,000).

Nine’s best was its 6pm news that posted 748,000, ACA did 565,000, Hot Seat had 404,000, a repeat of Paramedics did 360,000 and Kings Cross ER managed 302,000.

10’s best was The Project with 403,000 and 10 News First that posted 294,000.

Over at the ABC, its evening went this way: 7pm news (627,000), 7.30 (516,000), Scottish Vets Down Under (326,000) and a repeat of Giff’s Great Kiwi Road Trip (306,000).

And that, friends, is your TV numbers done and dusted for 2020.
