November online sales events in Australia are continuing to gain popularity, new data shows.

With some now labelling the entire month ‘Black November’, here in Australia, we have already had Click Frenzy and Single’s Day, while Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both still to come.

Affiliate marketing company Skimlinks has revealed that both Click Frenzy and Single’s Day had record years in Australia, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Single’s Day in particular, which originated in China as an antithesis to Valentine’s Day, has proven particularly popular. The November 11 event saw sales grow 335 per cent year-on-year, according to Skimlinks.

The data also shows that Single’s Day is mostly a mobile event, with mobile traffic growth outpacing desktop 10x.

Click Frenzy, meanwhile, saw traffic increase 116 per cent.

“The results from Singles’ Day and Click Frenzy continue the global ecommerce boom we’ve seen throughout 2020,” said Skimlinks CEO Sebastien Blanc.

“Singles’ Day Traffic grew almost 700 per cent year-on-year and publisher commissions during Click Frenzy in Australia grew 414 per cent.”

During Click Frenzy, The Iconic, Catch, Adore Beauty, Kogan, Bonds and Myer led performance, with consumers embracing Australian brands, with an average order value of $206 AUD across top articles.

Blanc tipped the recent strong results to spill over into Cyber Weekend.
