Thursday TV Wrap: BBL Does The Goods For Seven On An Otherwise Quiet Night

607,000 Australians tuned in to watch the Melbourne Stars beat the Sydney thunders last night in a challenger game, according to OzTAM metro numbers.

On an otherwise quiet night, Seven enjoyed a nice boost from the Big Bash League, which started on December 17 last year and is set to end on Saturday February 8 at the SCG. Challenger session one had an audience of 467,000, while session two had 529,000.

Nine’s best show of the night was MAFS, with 992,000 viewers tuning in, which is slightly down on previous nights. However, Thursday night is typically slower.

10’s best performing programme was The Project with 446,000 views.  Meanwhile, 10 has also announced Gogglebox Australia will return to screens first on Foxtel’s LifeStyle channel on Wednesday, 26 February at 7.30pm and the following day at 8.30pm on 10.

Nine

News did 771,000, ACA pulled 728,000 and Hot Seat did 412,000.

10

Ambulance Australia enjoyed 424,000 while 10 News First did 399,000.

Seven 

Seven news did 996,000, Home and Away 595,000 and The Chase Australia did 327,000.

Across all channels, Seven won the night thanks to its BBL coverage with 31.0 per cent, Nine followed closely with 30.0 per cent and 10 earned 16.9 per cent.

Primary channel – share

Across the primary channel, Nine won with 23.5 per cent, Seven followed on 21.9 per cent and 10 did 10.7 per cent.

  1. Nine – 38.1 per cent
