Social media users are having a field day mocking Zara for its online ad for jeans that look like they’re being modelled by an invisible man.

The post was originally shared on Twitter and appears to be taken off the retailer’s French website. It shows the jeans, which retail for £29.9, stood up with shoes at the bottom, but no model inside. Essentially, it looks like they’re being modeled by a ghost.

The post currently has 219K likes and 34K retweets.

While it’s true retail is having a tough time, surely it doesn’t put too much of a dent in the budget to hire a real and visible person to model the jeans? Especially considering the fashion retailer posted $5.19 billion in global sales in 2018.

One person commented on Twitter: “Times are so hard at Zara they’ve had to employ Charlie Chaplin’s ghost to model for them.”

Another said: “Ghosts getting modelling gigs is the representation we need in 2020.”

“Imagine you just get your first big modeling gig only to have them completely edit you out oof,” another said.
