Radio Ratings: Alan’s Shine Wears Off As Show Takes A Hit, Meanwhile Axed Brissy Brekky Show Goes Numero Uno
Welcome to the eight GfK metro radio survey (and final one) of 2019, the day we know B&T readers have all been waiting patiently for.
In the latest radio news, is Alan’s shine finally starting to wear off? While we concede it’s unlikely his voice will be going anywhere anytime soon, over the last three radio ratings his audience share has dipped, perhaps a trend which will continue into 2020. His latest numbers show a decline of -1.4 per cent to 14.6 per cent.
Meanwhile over in Brisbane, the recently axed 93.7 Breakfast team Bianca, Mike & Bob finished up as the number one show in the city, up 1.7 per cent to 11.2 per cent. In Melbourne, nothing too drastic happened, but there was a top three shakeup across both breakfast and drive (more on that below).
B&T has created a sweet and snappy rundown for each of the metro markets, so you don’t have to. Check out where the radio industry currently stands below. You can read the stats from the last survey here.
SYDNEY
2GB remained in top spot overall with 12.1 per cent, though it is down -1.2 per cent since the last rating. smoothfm remained firmly in second place with 9.3 per cent share (no change), while KIIS106.5 was knocked out of third spot (into fourth) by ABC Sydney (8.9 per cent).

There were some bigger movements across the drive spots, with 2GB’s drive show with Ben Fordham dropping out of the top three following Luke Grant’s temporary takeover while Fordham takes some time off.
