Fairfax Announces New Partnership With Taronga Zoo, Launches ‘Wrong Skin’ Podcast

Publishing giant Fairfax Media has announced a new and exclusive partnership with Taronga Zoo, along with a new podcast series.

Fairfax will bolster support for both Taronga Zoo and Western Plains Zoo via its The Sydney Morning Herald and The Sun Herald, as well as through its suburban and regional networks.

The new partnership builds upon an existing relationship between the two organisations, and will see greater editorial, commercial and marketing support to ensure the zoos’ milestone activities and key events are showcased and supported.

The partnership will also see Taronga grant Fairfax exclusive or first access to some of its conservation-related news stories, which are set to be delivered via photography and editorial across the publisher’s metro network.

As part of a broader revamp strategy of The Sun Herald to be driven by new editor Cosima Marriner, the focus will be on The Sun Herald as key editorial partner.

Fairfax has also launched Wrong Skin – an investigative podcast into the cold case of Julie Buck and her boyfriend Richard Milgin, who vanished from the remote Aboriginal community of Looma in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

The first episode of Wrong Skin was released on Sunday and is narrated by The Age’s Richard Baker.

The new podcast follows on from the team behind the Phoebe’s Fall podcast, which led the Victorian Government to reform to the Coroner’s Act in June 2018.
