Thursday TV Wrap: Big Numbers For Seven, Thanks To 1.4 Million Olympic Viewers
Tragically, tragically, the Olympics is beginning its wind-down.
As millions of people in lockdown across Australia look upon the coming Monday with dread, wondering what they’ll watch when they’re ‘working’ between the hours of 3pm to 5pm, or the unbeatable dopamine boost of watching someone mess up a move in a sport you’ve never heard of. And what about all those Aussie golds? Maybe they should extend it another week, just for us.
Fear not, there are still three full days of the Olympics left, and Thursday night’s coverge showed little signs of a slow. The night coverage peaked at 1,424,000 according to OzTAM’s metro data.
That being said, the rest of the top three was rounded out by news: Seven News had 1,326,000 viewers while Nine News had 1,096,000.
The evening Olympics coverage also peaked at over a million with 1,087,000 viewers, while late afternoon had 989,000, afternoon had 778,000, late night had 738,000, night feed two had 696,000, evening feed two had 589,000 and the morning coverage had 500,000.
Once again, The Chase topped entertainment with 824,000 viewers, while Nine’s Hot Seat had 498,000 and 10’s The Bachelor just snuck into the top 20 most viewed with 375,000.
In terms of news, A Current Affair had 716,000 viewers, ABC News had 666,000, 7.30 had 496,000, Nine;s Afternoon News had 414,000 while The Project had 397,000.
The Seven Network again secured 53.7 per cent of the daily share, while the Nine Network had 18.9 per cent, Network 10 had 11.9 per cent, the ABC TV Network had 10.5 per cent, while the SBS Network had 5.0 per cent.
