Samantha Armytage Quashes Speculation That She’ll Be Taking Over Grimshaw’s Throne

Samantha Armytage has taken to Twitter to deny she’s in the running to replace Tracey Grimshaw on Nine’s A Current Affair.

Look, it was always a long shot when considering she’s been at Seven for decades. She was Sunrise’s golden girl for years, and now she’s helping farmers find love on Farmer Wants A Wife.

To be fair, how could anyone ask Armytage to hang up her Akbura and don a blazer and chase down Centrelink fraudsters? It hardly has the appeal of forcing farmers to talk about their feelings.

However, Armytage felt the rumours had become so unbearable she took to Twitter to clear things up. Ironically, she went to Twitter to deny she was taking over Grimshaw’s reign in response to an article declaring she was not a frontrunner to replace Grimshaw.

Armytage wrote: “Ummmm. I have 18 months left on my contract with Seven and many exciting things coming up with the network – where do they get this stuff?”

Ummmm.. I have 18 months left on my contract with 7 – & many exciting things coming up with the network – where do they get this stuff? 🤷‍♀️ ⁦@australian⁩ pic.twitter.com/HU3cLmU2fA

Does this mean Sylvia Jefferies is edging close to snagging the chair? Or will Karl Stefanovic make the jump and finally get to hit the snooze button?
