Russian Journalist Marina Ovsyannikova, who went viral after she interrupted a live news report to protest the war, has now nabbed a journalism job in Germany.
Ovsyannikova bravely interrupted a channel one live news broadcast holding a sign that said, “Stop the war! Don’t believe propaganda! They’re lying to you here!”
It was brave, it was bold and it also made many people worry about what the consequences would be for Ovsyannikova.
Ultimately, she only faced a fine for her actions.
German @welt said it has hired the Russian propagandist Marina Ovsyannikova, who appeared with a "No War" poster on TV. Later, she was fined $287.

Now, Ovsyannikova seems to have landed on her feet! The BBC has reported German Media outlet, Die Welt.
The brave reporter will work for the news outlet and report on the ongoing war.
BBC reported that editor-in-chief of Welt Group, Ulf Porschardt, said that Ovsyannikova’s on-air protest “defended the most important journalistic ethics – despite the threat of state repression”.
“I am excited to be working with her.”
However, in true Twitter fashion, Twitter has had mixed reactions to the announcement even offering some conspiracy theories.

Welt hires Marina Ovsyannikova as correspondent. Ovsyannikova for the last 20 years worked on Vremya – the main news program on Channel 1, the main Kremlin TV propaganda outlet. It's a synonym of lies to anyone who follows Russian media. 1/3

Countless independent journalists have fled Russia over the last six weeks and Germany’s Die Welt goes and hires Marina Ovsyannikova as a correspondent? You have got to be kidding me. https://t.co/OwJPHMXxlG pic.twitter.com/z1TXlRhDRG
