Christmas Day Hell Roasted In Riotous Spot For Shopping Centre Chain

There can be no denying British agencies are the masters of the Christmas ad and new work by shopping centre chain Landsec all but cements their global status as festive marketing masters.

Called “Leave them speechless”, the spoof spot gloriously skewers extended family get-togethers come the 25th.

The work of London creative agency Snap, the ad plays out via a young woman who has to suffer the advice, boredom and pure embarrassment of relatives on Christmas day that probably most of us can relate to.

Commenting on the work, Oliver Lewis-Barclay, Snap’s managing partner, said: “Truth is, although we love them dearly, at Christmas we’re often stuck with extended family, listening to dodgy opinions and inane chat with nowhere to escape.

“We’re just reminding people that buying people lovely gifts from Landsec’s many shopping centres and outlets is a great way to ‘leave them speechless’,” Lewis-Barclay said.

Liam Wilson, creative director at Snap, added, “I can neither confirm nor deny the allegations that the characters are based on people I know.”
