A BBC journalist has been ruthlessly mocked for pointing out the Queen’s recent stunt with Paddington Bear was all – believe it or not – CGI generated!

The sketch – which you can watch in full HERE – was part of Her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne celebrations earlier this year and saw the bear and the Monarch in deep discussion about a mutual love of marmalade sandwiches.

Since the Queen’s passing last Thursday, the sketch has come to light again, with mourners even leaving sandwiches and Paddington Bear toys as tributes at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

But an unnamed BBC journalist has ruined everyone’s fun, revealing live to air that “we should remember that she acted that in an empty space! It wasn’t the real Paddington there, even though it looked like it.”

He added: “She acted out what she would say to Paddington and then the CGI experts went in and animated a Paddington image for her!”

Naturally, social media soon had a ball at the reporter’s unfortunate explanation.

One twitter user replied: “Explains a lot. I heard they hated each other so much they couldn’t be on set together and had to film their parts separately.”

Another said: “Tbh I thought Paddington filmed it on his own and then they CGI’d the Queen in.”

A third wrote: “The commentators have officially run out of talking points.”
