Almost 2 million tune in for MKR meltdown
Seven dominated the screens last night as 1.877 million people tuned in to see everything go wrong for Thalia and Bianca on My Kitchen Rules last night.
Dropping the plates, using powdered cinnamon and the pasta not crisping were just a few of the catastrophes of the night that had 529,000 Sydney-siders and 517,000 Melbournians watching in dismay.
Seven’s Home and Away also grabbed over a million viewers at 7pm last night (1.039 million), and with Seven News and Today Tonight seeing 1.487 and 1.267 million viewers respectively the network grabbed a whopping 38.2% total combined share.
Revenge at 9pm on Seven last night was also in the top ten most watched shows (eighth) with 942,000 viewers, also helping to solidify Seven’s coup.
Seven’s primary station grabbed 29.3% of the network’s total share.
Nine came in second with a total share of 24.1% with its news and A Current Affair leading the network’s result.
Nine news grabbed 1.242 million with its 6.30pm section pulling in 1.073 million.
A Current Affair at 7pm sat just behind Revenge in ninth position with 890,000 viewers.
The two episodes of The Big Bang Theory on Nine fell into 12th and 13th position, grabbing 640,000 for the 7.30pm viewing and 634,000 viewers at 8pm.
Nine’s main station 17% of the network’s total share.
ABC’s Media Watch grabbed 17th place in the top 20 shows from yesterday with 554,000 viewers.
Along with ABC’s news throughout the night and Australian Story at 8pm, the network nabbed a total combined share of 17.5%, with 13.3% going to ABC1.
Ten came in fourth place with a total share of 15.7%, with its primary channel grabbing 9.6%.
The Project at 7pm and Ten Eyewitness News were the only two programs from Ten to make it into the top 20, scoring 585,000 and 552,000 viewers respectively.
SBS came in fifth with a total share of 4.4%, with SBS One seeing 3.7%.
