Packed to the Rafters beats The Following debut

The Voice has cracked through the two million mark for the first time in its new season with 2.070 million Australians tuning in to the competition last night.

The result is up on its debut of 1.828 million and Monday evening’s 1.874 million, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules was in second place with 1.368 million viewers.

Nine’s pilot of new American crime drama The Following came second place in the 8.40pm slot to Seven’s consistent performer Packed to the Rafters.

The Following sat in seventh place with 1.031 million viewers behind Packed to the Rafters with 1.155 million.

However The Following did outperform Packed in the 18-49 demographic where it came third with 545,000 viewers. Packed to the Rafters sat in fourth place with 482,000.

Ten’s best performing program was again Ten News at Five with 666,000 viewers.

NCIS followed in 13th place with 645,000 and The Biggest Loser came in 16th place overall with 568,000.

The Biggest Loser did stay within the top 10 rating shows in the 18-49 demographic with 324,000 viewers in ninth place.

Nine News pulled in an audience of 1.25 million ahead of Seven News’ 1.184 million with Nine’s A Current Affair beating Seven’s Today Tonight with 1.275 million and 985,000 viewers respectively.

Nine took a 29.3% share of all free-to-air viewers ahead of Seven’s 23%.

Ten claimed a share of 12.3% ahead of the ABC’s 11.4% and SBS One’s 4%.
