Reports: Seven Prepared To Pay $250,000 To Secure Exclusive With Bruce Lehrmann

According to reports, Bruce Lehrmann’s team is in talks with Seven and is trying to seal a deal that includes a sit-down interview that could be worth $250,000.

News.com.au has reported that the deal could be worth a quarter of a million dollars. Reportedly Nine would be keen on an interview but it would be unpaid and it would have likely aired as a special on 60 Minutes.

Meanwhile, Seven are prepared to throw some cash at Lehrmann.

Seven’s no stranger to ponying up for a good interview, the network famously paid disgraced con woman Melissa Caddick’s husband, Anthony Koletti $150,000 for an exclusive.

Similarly, the network paid politician Barnaby Joyce a reported $150,000 for an exclusive chat. After he divorced his wife and had a baby with a former staffer – interestingly the interview only secured 631,000 viewers.

However, it is interesting Nine has reportedly not been keen to get out the chequebook when you consider the network did fork out $2 million for an exclusive with the family of abduction survivor Cleo Smith.

Lehrmann, who previously worked for the Liberal party was previously charged with the sexual assault of Brittany Higgins.  He maintained his innocence, the charges were ultimately dropped and he was never convicted of a crime.
