AGL Appoints Big Red As Creative Agency After Messy Demerger
By

AGL has reportedly given independent agency Big Red its creative account after a number of competing agencies pulled out of contention.

The energy provider had previously held onto UM as its media agency of choice, but looked set to make changes after the Australian Financial Review reported it was searching for new agencies to work with back in May following the initiation of a demerger.

The demerger process has become a long and drawn out affair, causing disruptions for AGL and leading to sweeping changes such as the creative account going begging.

Big Red themselves have gone through changes of late, after the termination of a longstanding relationship with Coles earlier this year. In a way, the two companies are practically made for each other!

Big Red’s portfolio includes Optus, BHP, Coles and Virgin Australia.
