YouTube Looking To Get Into Streaming Subscriptions With Online Channel Store
By

YouTube is reportedly working on an online channel store that will bring it into competition with Amazon and Apple as it looks to enter the world of streaming subscription service.

The company, owned by tech giant Google, has reportedly been working on the channel store service for around 18 months, and is currently in the process of negotiating with content providers.

With the addition of a paid streaming subscription, it would allow YouTube users to access multiple options on the same platform, with YouTube Red and YouTube TV already being offered within the app.

There’s a strong case for success here, given that YouTube currently draws in 2 billion viewers a month, something that will likely make the new service an enticing offer for advertisers.

The news also comes after Wallmart announced that US customers who use the Wallmart+ app can now receive a Paramount+ subscription at no additional cost.
