Cheil Australia has today announced a raft of new promotions, following a successful year developing innovative and effective digital and retail strategies for customers.

Head of creative services, Chris Hands (main photo, left), senior digital strategist, Sonny Hovsepian (right), senior account director, Marissa Limberis, and design director, Carlos Baron are just a few names that have been deserving of recognition for their hard work and resilience after the creative Australian agency reported its most successful performing year to date.

People and culture manager, Melissa Young said 2021 was a significant growth year for Cheil Australia, adding that despite the setbacks brought in by the pandemic, the company managed to recruit key new hires and promote a number of individuals “expanding our internal structure and doubling our entire team, which is now made up of four divisions and over 70 staff.”

The agency’s managing partner, Mark Anderson, added, “By putting a real focus on our people and establishing a strong team dynamic, Cheil Australia has evolved its capabilities, raising its profile in the APAC region as a rapidly growing and emerging digital creative agency.

“Despite the challenges we all continue to face, the agency made great progress in 2021. So, it was only fitting to acknowledge those who heavily contributed to this growth and success, and raised the bar in their respective fields – demonstrating their undeniable passion and dedication along the way.”

Sonny Hovsepian, who was recently promoted to senior digital strategist, is a testimony to the company’s growth and commitment in the digital experience space.

By compiling relevant digital data and insight, Hovsepian played a significant role in the company’s delivery of effective digital strategies, driving record-breaking client results.

“We are working closely with our clients to go beyond the traditional and direct communication method by constantly exploring how we can effectively meet consumer needs through tailored digital interactive communication,” said Hovsepian.

“There has been a significant growth of consumer dependency on digital support, particularly on mobile over the last two years, and so effective online communication between consumers and brands is crucial, now more than ever.”

Meanwhile, in the creative division, Chris Hands was promoted to head of creative services.

Hands said that even though Cheil Australia has always had a strong team in design, adding more talent has fostered a broader and more holistic skillset.

“This gives the entire Creative Department, including artwork, motion, digital and conceptual design more ownership of their end-to-end outputs,” he added.

“Strong leadership in our senior members, robust onboarding and culture, plus a strong collaboration between all disciplines has lifted both the standards and the ethos within our team.”

The promotions and Cheil’s continued focus on people and culture are just some of the agency’s key initiatives for 2022, as it sets its sights on further growth and expansion.
