“The World’s Gone Mad!” Funeral Home Posts Bizarre Ad Showing Lingerie Models Posing With Coffins

A Russian funeral service has sparked controversy online after posting its latest online advertisements showing semi naked models posing next to, and inside, coffins.

The bizarre ads were uploaded to TikTok and Instagram by Moscow-based funeral service, Horonim.ru, and appear to show two lingerie-clad women in a series of poses inside, what appears to be, a funeral home.

The 42-second clip in question also shows one model posing suggestively inside a casket, before showing another model posing on top of a closed casket while holding a sign with the company’s logo.

Naturally people online are up in arms over the ads, with comments on the Instagram and TikTok posts ranging from the outraged, to the absolute befuddled.

“Why do we need nude women to advertise something so private and sombre?” One commenter asked, according to the New York Post.

“Isn’t this blasphemy? I think it is.” A different commenter asked, while another simply said, “The real horror is that people have lost all boundaries. The world has gone mad.”

What’s even more confusing about the ad, is the total lack of continuity with Horonim.ru’s other social media posts, which merely depict staff, products, and facilities, as well as company announcements and seasonal well-wishes.

Even the caption for the 42-second clip in question barely acknowledges its own gothic sexuality.

The accompanying caption simply reads, “Horonim.ru organises funeral services for all categories of citizens. We have our in-house team of qualified agents who oversee the organisation of a funeral through every stage”.

According to the company’s official website, Horonim.ru has been operating in the Moscow region for 15 years, and offers services including, “the choice of a cemetery and the problems of decorating a place, how to deliver the body and relatives on the day of the funeral, what rituals to observe, etc.

“You need help in order for this ritual to pass with dignity,” the website reads. However, semi naked models posing on your casket doesn’t appear to be an available option.

It’s unclear whether legal action will be sought against the undertakers, especially considering Russia’s recently introduced indecency laws which, earlier this month, saw an online influencer threatened with jailtime after she posed naked next to a Church.

    1. Tacy as it may be it’s certainly generated an enormous amount of awareness, both in conversion and exposure.
One could think the creators (although stirrers) had that in mind when they put this campaign together.
