Apple Set To Enforce Proof Of Covid-19 Booster Shot For Employees

Apple will require retail and corporate employees to provide proof of a Covid-19 booster shot.

The Verge reported that unvaccinated employees or those who haven’t submitted proof of vaccination will need negative Covid-19 tests to enter Apple workplaces.

Though The Verge also wrote that it wasn’t immediately clear if the testing requirement applied to both corporate and retail workers.

In the internal email seen by The Verge, an Apple memo read, “Due to waning efficacy of the primary series of Covid-19 vaccines and the emergence of highly transmissible variants such as Omicron, a booster shot is now part of staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination to protect against severe disease.”

Major employers like United Airlines and Tyson Foods were some of the first companies to enact vaccine requirements but now a host of others have followed suit.

These policies have come to fruition despite the U.S Supreme Court blocking the Biden administration’s vaccine-or-test mandate on January 13, 2022.

This scrapped mandate would’ve applied to all private companies with 100 or more employees.

Though rightfully so, even without Government mandates, Apple has been proactive in the development and updates of its Covid-19 policy.
