Facebook Parent Meta’s Head Of Communications Leaves Company

Facebook Parent Meta’s Head Of Communications John Pinette has left the business.

As reported by CNET, a Meta spokesperson said, “We are thankful for John’s positive contributions during an intense and significant time in the company’s history.”

“We wish him well going forward.”

However, the spokesperson didn’t give a reason for Pinette’s departure in an email on Saturday.

Pinette earlier broke the news to employees in a Friday afternoon post, stating, “Today will be my last day at Meta.”

Pinette had handled communications since 2019 and had previously led communications for Google in Asia.

Additionally, he’d also worked for Bill Gates and served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s company Vulcan.

Despite being a juggernaut of technological innovation with safe as houses fundamentals Meta’s social media networks continue to face pressure after Frances Haugen leaked a cache of damning internal documents.

Irrespective of current controversies, a Meta spokesperson told Reuters that for now, Chris Norton, vice president of international communications, will step in Pinette’s former role.

As for Pinette, as he’s written publicly, “I believe myself to be extraordinarily lucky to have been associated with organisations that have had an impact across the globe.”
