Wednesday TV Wrap: Gruen And Hard Quiz Snare ABC An Entertainment Win

According to OzTAM’s metro data, Australia loves a panel show, as the ABC dominated entertainment with Hard Quiz and Gruen.

Hard Quiz was number one with 646,000, followed by Gruen with 642,000.

While a long-time Aussie TV staple, Gruen was recently discovered by US podcaster Joe Rogan – who assumed one of the show’s fake ads was real and “propaganda’. Ah, the many joys of satire!

On top overall was Seven News with 1,036,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 1,009,000. A Current Affair was next with 714,000, while ABC News had 703,000.

Also on the ABC was 7.30, with 638,000.

Nine’s Parental Guidance  scored 536,000 viewers, while news special Finding Cleo had 459,000, Hot Seat had 426,000 and the arvo news had 320,000.

On Seven, Home and Away had 533,000, The Chase had 543,000, Big Brother VIP had 375,000 and Sunrise had 316,000.

Finally, 10’s The Project had 391,000 viewers while 10 News First had 343,000.

The Nine Network won the night overall with 29.3 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 27.8 per cent. In third was the ABC TV network with 19.3 per cent, followed by Network 10 with 15.6 per cent, and finally the SBS Network with 8.0 per cent.

Looking now to OzTam’s total tv report for Wednesday October 27, The Block was top with a total viewership of 1,522,000 (metro: 862,000, regional: 340,000, BVOD: 196,000).

Next was Seven News with 1,513,000 viewers (metro: 903,000, regional: 576,000, BVOD: 30,000), followed by Nine News with 1,181,000 total viewers (metro: 845,000, regional: 307,000, BVOD: 29,000).

The program with the highest lift on overnight was once again Love Island Australia at 85 per cent, bringing it to a total audience of 610,000 viewers (metro: 254,000, regional: 76,000, BVOD: 226,000).

The Bachelorette Australia also saw a significant lift on overnight at 51 per cent, bringing it to a total audience of 527,000 (metro: 253,000, regional: 95,000, BVOD: 143,000).
