Radio Ratings: Ben Fordham Continues To Reign Supreme While ABC Rises In Ratings!
It’s been a difficult time in Sydney and Melbourne, with lockdowns pushing everyone out of their usual listening routines. However, 2GB has shown some strong results, with ben Fordham reigning supreme in Sydney.
The Sydney ratings saw Ben Fordham hold onto number one with ABC Sydney increasingly winning over listeners and remaining steady in number two. Though, it’s worth noting, the hosts of ABC Breakfast With Wendy Harmer and Robbie Buck have announced they won’t be returning next year. Meanwhile, The Kyle & Jackie 0 Show remained in third place after taking out the top spot earlier this year.
Overall, 2GB rose by 1.2 per cent, and KIIS 106.5 dropped an overall 0.7, with its key shows in Breakfast and Drive all facing a slight rating drop.
In Melbourne, the ratings stayed mostly consistent. The top three brekkie programs (3AW’s Ross and Russell; ABC Melbourne’s Sammy J, and GOLD 104.3’s Christian O’Connell) remaining in the same spots. Though Sammy J, faced a slight drop in numbers at -1.4 per cent.
In drive, 3AW saw an upswing in viewership and claimed number one, and ABC’s Rafael Epstein grew his audience, though ultimately the show placed second.
In Adelaide, CRUISE FM returned to the top three, knocking out FIVAaa. ABC Adelaide’s Breakfast With Ali Clarke continued to grow with a respectable 1.7 per cent. MIX 102.3’s Will & Woody claimed number one in drive, but faced a small loss of viewership, down by -0.6.
Meanwhile, in Perth, NOVA93.7 took over MIX.94.5 to claim the top spot, by remaining stead in viewership. Long-standing NOVA brekkie trio Nathan, Nat & Shaun continued their top spot placement, though they did see a small drop in shares. Meanwhile, 96FM The Bunch With Clairsy And Lisa (11.7, +0.2) remained in third and showed small growth.
Finally, in Brisbane, the tie was broken, with NOVA106.9 (11.7, last 10.2, up 1.5) taking out the number one spot and 4KQ (10.9, last 10.3, up 0.7) coming in second. While 97.3 (9.3, last 10.2, -0.9) landed in third. NOVA106.9’s Kate, Tim & Joel took out the top spot in drive with Carrie & Tommy coming in second.
