Nicole Kidman Is marie claire’s 25th Anniversary Cover Star
Australia’s number one selling fashion magazine, marie claire, today celebrates its 25th birthday with a bumper 252-page collector’s edition, helmed by Australia’s biggest star, Nicole Kidman.
From its very first issue, marie claire has been the highest-selling fashion magazine every month, regularly out-selling its competitors by up to three times.
Leading luxury advertisers including Cartier, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Tiffany and Co., Bulgari, Fendi and Coach have joined the party to mark this special milestone.
Nicky Briger, editor of marie claire, said: “For a quarter century, our mission has resolutely remained the same – to combine thought-provoking, rigorous journalism with inspirational fashion and beauty for smart, discerning women. Over those 25 years, marie claire has innovated to meet the changing demands of our audiences and advertising partners, who I sincerely thank for their ongoing commitment.
“I’m absolutely thrilled with the support we’ve had for our epic birthday edition. And despite some challenges in creating this issue – mostly produced from our loungerooms in lockdown – the issue looks fantastic, which is a huge testament to the talent of the MC team! I look forward to seeing marie claire inspire, empower, inform and entertain Australian women for another 25 years.”
The birthday issue is helmed by an exclusive photoshoot and interview with Australia’s biggest star, Nicole Kidman, the 10th time she’s appeared on the marie claire cover. Nicky Briger sits down with Nicole and chats about longevity, love and her latest role in her next Liane Moriarty hit, Nine Perfect Strangers.
Other highlights include:
- The Next 25: marie clairereveals the change makers and future shapers who are set to make their mark on the next quarter century.
- Who will be Australia’s next female Prime Minister? Ravaged by allegations of toxic masculinity and sexism, Australian politics is in desperate need of a shakeup. A panel of journalists, politicians and commentators share their views on who should be our next female PM. There’s one clear winner – can you guess who it is?
- Generation Wars: From politics to purpose and feminism to friendship, some of Australia’s best female writers – spanning three generations – debate the current hot button issues.
- “The day the world changed”: As we approach the 20-year anniversary of September 11, three women affected by the deadliest terrorist attack in history reflect on the day that shifted the course of history.
The September issue of marie claire is out today, August 26.
