ScoMo Makes Appearance On Kyle & Jackie O To Tell Australia He Didn’t Shit Himself In Macca’s
While the country is paralysed by growing COVID-19 cases and our vaccine rollout is ranked last on the OECD ratings, Scott Morrison appeared on the Kyle & Jackie O Show to dispel the long-standing rumour that he shat himself in a McDonald’s in 1997.
The alleged shitting took place in Engadine, New South Wales in 1997 after the Cronulla Sharks lost to the Bribane Broncos in the Super League grand final. The story went viral a few years ago, and street artists even made a commemorative plate for the restaurant.
I’d like to nominate whoever went to the trouble of having this plaque made and placing it at Engadine McDonald’s for Australian of the Year. #EngadineMaccas #auspol #ViolentShart pic.twitter.com/YKureFdaRl

When scomo wantonly and violently shat himself
— Ya Man Dan (@Danmicallef_) May 17, 2019
According to an investigation by HappyMag.TV, the poo-mour first began when Joyride, a Sydney based hip-hop artist, tweeted, “Scott Morrison shat himself at Engadine McDonalds after the [Cronulla] Sharks lost the GF in ’97.
Joyride’s account was not a first-hand eye witness, though he said his “mate was working there at the time”.
Morrison has denied the alleged shitting over the years, appearing on another KIIS Network show Will & Woody. When asked about it, Morrison referred to it as “the biggest load of rubbish”.
During his appearance on the Kyle & Jackie O Show, Morrison discussed the expected topic of the pandemic. However, he himself then brought up Macca’s-gate.
He said, “can I clear one thing up from ages ago?”
When asked if he meant the Maccas’s story, Morrison continued “it is the biggest urban myth ever, it is complete and utter rubbish.”
“I found the whole thing incredible amusing, I always joke about it.”
Of course, the internet has responded with disappointment and speculation.
The most fanciful part of the Engadine Maccas thing has always been the suggestion that Scott Morrison cared about the Sharks in 1997

I’m not afraid to admit that, given the opportunity, I’d shit myself at Engadine Macca’s.

I think he went on the radio to say he never shat at Engadine Macca’s because technically it was a shart. Very Clintonian.

Like many elements of politics, it is unlikely the public will ever be satisfied an answer. The story of the 1997 shitting has become legend – beyond truth, beyond fiction. There will be those on either side of the fence, unable to be convinced of the story’s veracity, or it’s fictitiousness.
Ultimately, no matter what the truth is: you cannot outrun the past, the spectre of Engadine McDonald’s.
