In a new campaign for Pride month, Skittles and Adam&EveDDB have created ‘Recolour the Rainbow’, a campaign which adds colour to historic LGBTQIA+ photos.

The campaign was created with assistance from Switchboard, Queer Britain and Gay Times, and sees four photographs restored to full colour.

The images include the 1971 Homosexual Liberation Entrance protest in London’s Trafalgar Square, the 1985 Lesbian Power March – which features noted activist Femi Otitoju, as well as images from New York and San Francisco in the 70s.

Skittles is also calling for customers to help “fill the gaps in the LGBTQ+ archive”.

The project, in collaboration with Queer Britain, encourages people to submit black and white pictures of historic Prides to be recoloured and included in the organisation’s archive.

Pictures can be submitted at recolourtherainbow.co.uk
