Casefile True Crime Still Australia’s Favourite Podcast, Latest Ranker Shows

Triton Digital has released its April rankings for the month’s most popular podcasts, with Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime still in top place as the nation’s favourite podcast.

That came despite Casefile only releasing four episodes during April. In second place, Stuff You Should Know, published by ARN/iHeartMedia, released 17 new episodes.

Third and fourth positions remain unchanged for the month with Hamish & Andy (four new episodes) and The Kyle & Jackie O Show (84 new episodes), but Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne (eight new episodes) moved into fifth place ahead of 7am (24 new episodes).

SCA’s Triple M Footy AFL continues a positive run, rising 24 places to 10th on the ranker with a whopping 118 new episodes released in April.

However, the biggest movers in the top 100 podcasts list were ARN/iHeaartMedia’s Cautionary Tales (five new episodes) and Diamantina’s So Dramatic! (10 new episodes), which moved 41 places to 42nd on the ranker and 35 places to 34th on the ranker, respectively.

On the All-Australian ranker, Casefile True Crime remains in top spot, followed by Hamish & Andy and The Kyle & Jackie O Show. News Corp Australia’s Sky News – News Bulletin podcast dropped three places to be booted from the top 10.

But Sky wasn’t the biggest flop from the All-Australian ranker: Diamantina’s Betoota Daily News Bulletin (21 new episodes) dropped 46 places in the rankings.

On the flip-side, the biggest positive mover was SCA – LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy’s Remembering Project podcast (three new episodes), which lifted 49 places to 19th on the All-Australian ranker.

A few new podcasts made their debut on the top 100 ranker in April, too, including SCA-LiSTNR’s The Scorecard with Liam Flanagan, Nova’s Fear and Greed Business Headlines, ARN/iHeartMedia’s Lore.

While News Corp Australia’s The Breakdown, Podshape’s Confessions of a Train Wreck, and Nine Publishing’s Good Weekend Talks made their debuts on the All-Australian ranker.

ARN/iHeartMedia holds the largest share of the podcast publishers’ market with nearly 12.3 million downloads (380 active podcasts) in April.

This was followed by SCA with more than 8.2 million downloads (386 active podcasts); and Audioboom with more than 4.7 million downloads (275 active podcasts).
