Monday TV Wrap: Seven Wins The Night Though Big Brother Premiere A Little Undercooked

Seven premiered Big Brother last night to a high of 664,000 viewers during the arrival, despite A bit of classic TV bait where a contest put a raw leg of lamb through a wood chipper (pictured above).

We wish that was a joke, but it’s not. The premiere episode was split into three seperate programs, the arrival which scored the night’s high, the episode itself, which had 662,000 viewers, and the eviction which had 650,000 viewers according to OzTAM’s metro data.

This made the average viewership across all three programs 652,000.

Top of the ratings was Seven News with 1,105,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 1,039,000. Next was A Current Affair at 782,000, followed by Lego Masters at 739,000 viewers, a rise from Sunday night’s episode.

ABC News was next with 714,000 viewers, beating Big Brother.

The rest of the ABC’s night had 7.30 at 596,000 while Australian Story had 564,000 viewers. Four Corners had 539,000 viewers and Media Watch had 461,000 viewers.

For 10, MasterChef had 545,000 viewers followed by The Project and 10 News First with 489,000 and 420,000 viewers respectively.

Seven scored 645,000 viewers with Home and Away and 529,000 with The Chase, while Nine’s Hot Seat had 511,000.

Seven (all channels) won the night with 28 per cent of the daily share, pipping Nine (all channels) – which had 26 per cent – at the post. Next was Network 10 with 19 per cent of the share, followed by the ABC Network with 17 per cent and the SBS Network with eight per cent.
