Mercedes Throws The Rule Book Out The Window In Crazy TVC That Would NEVER Get Past Aussie Regulators

As anyone who’s ever made a automobile ad in Australia will tell you, there’s a stack of regulations you need to adhere to get your TVC to air.

Top of the list – and you can read the Ad Standards by-laws here – is that no car spot can show “unsafe driving, including reckless and menacing driving that would breach any Commonwealth law or the law of any State or Territory”.

With that in mind, we can’t see German marque Mercedes Benz’s new campaign for its incredibly futuristic looking self parking on the new S-class vehicles getting the blessing from Aussie authorities anytime soon.

The two-minute long spot shows the crazy and dangerous antics of three car parking valets who manage to drift, jump and even race the cops in customers’ cars. A definite change in tone from the typically straight and safe car maker.

The ad’s the work of Mercedes’ European lead agency Antoni and was shot in Berlin.

Check out the action below (before it gets banned for good).
