Thursday TV Wrap: ScoMo Gets A Grilling On A Current Affair
Last night’s telly saw Scott Morrison in the hot seat over the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and mistreatment of women in the Liberal Party.
After being questioned by host Tracey Grimshaw on Linda Reynolds, Christian Porter and the possibility of including a quota for women in the Liberal Party, Morrison continued to defend his Cabinet, but said that “if we’re not getting more women in this Parliament then we’ve got to be doing something different than we’re doing now.”
He also said that he was open to speaking with Brittany Higgins, the former Liberal staffer who has accused a fellow staffer of raping her in senior Cabinet member Linda Reynold’s office. On Thursday, Higgins launched an official complaint with the Prime Minister’s Office after she was told by journalists that members of the PMO’s media team had done backgrounding against her partner.
The episode received 458,000 viewers, according to OzTAM’s metro data.
Coming in first in the rankings was Seven News with 869,000 viewers, solidly beating Nine News at 809,000. ABC News followed with 616,000 viewers while 7.30 had 548,000.
The AFL again performed well for Seven at 522,000 viewers as Collingwood beat Carlton, while the post-match coverage had 327,000.
While The Chase had a good night at 456,000 viewers, Home And Away took a hit with 294,000.
Nine’s NRL coverage had 356,000 as the Panthers beat the Storm. It just topped Hot Seat ,which had 356,000 viewers.
For 10, Gogglebox sax a solid increase from last week, scoring 509,000 viewers to make it – once again – the top-performing Thursday night entertainment.
The Project had 367,000 viewers, Territory Cops had 310,000, Bondi Rescue had 308,000 and 10 News First had 290,000.
Over at the ABC, Back Roads once again performed solidly with 428,000 viewers while Sammy J had 321,000.
The SBS’s top performer was The Diagnosis Detectives with 167,000 viewers.
Seven (all channels) came out on top for the daily share with 31 per cent as Nine (all channels) snuck into second with 25 per cent.
10 (all channels) was a resounding third with 19 per cent, while the ABC (all channels) and SBS (all channels) had 16 and seven per cent respectively.
