This Man-Motorcycle Singing ‘Karma Chameleon’ Will Be The Coolest Insurance Ad You See All Day

Let’s face it, insurance is often about as exciting as a drilling at the dentist.

So, it’s always hats off to any agency that can twist an insurance pitch beyond the mediocre and the humdrum.

Take new work for US motor vehicle insurer Progressive and its creative agency the Havas-owned, Boston-based Arnold Worldwide.

The two-part special features a freaky human/motorcycle hybrid called Motaur (played brilliantly by the actor Terrence Terrell), who’s been reprised from previous Progressive campaigns.

In the first spot – filmed by acclaimed female director J.J. Adler – Motaur takes to a desolate highway, however, instead of the predictable road trip tune it all plays out to the Culture Club’s classic Karma Chameleon.

There’s even a second spot as Motaur shops for new tyres that plays out like a visit to a shoe store.
