Virtual Reality Shopping Has Hit Australia, Via Sullivan Studios
Tim Sullivan and Tom Hamilton have launched Sullivan Studios, a business dedicated to establishing VR shops.
One of their first clients is Purvis Beer. CEO of Purvis Beer, Craig Purvis, thinks that the VR shop will surpass website sales by 2022.
“If you look at the data, then this is a no-brainer. Headset adoption is through the roof, investment in VR is in the billions, consumer behaviour is changing and very shortly people will be shopping in the VR space.”
The world’s first website was built in 1991, mobile commerce was born in 1997, the iPhone was released in 2007 – these advancements show the possibilities that technology is capable of.
Those who questioned whether the internet would change our lives have been proven wrong and now Tim Sullivan, co-founder of Sullivan Studios, believes the same will be said of VR shopping.
Sullivan stepped away from his digital agency Sonder Sites to focus on VR shops.
“VR shopping combines the benefit of real-world experience with the convenience of online retail. On top of that, VR shops will have uses that are yet to be imagined.”
Sullivan Studios has secured investor backing, established a new office in Melbourne, and has brands on board as well as a growing team.
“Every marketer should know that VR shopping will explode this year,” Sullivan said.
“The technology has arrived, the opportunities are endless and VR shopping will change the marketing landscape.”
