Sunday TV Wrap: SBS Cracks The Top Twenty While MAFS Has Best Night Yet

With a repeat of Michael Palin In North Korea, SBS cracked into the top twenty most viewed programs after a period in the cold. The program had a viewership of 243,000.

It was also a big night for MAFS, which scored 1,096,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers – its most successful episode of this series so far.

The couples voted on whether to stay or leave the competition, with Coco, boy Sam, Cam, and girl Sam all deciding to leave the competition after Coco and Cam’s affair was revealed.

In other TV news, Seven’s true crime documentary series Ivan Milat: Buried Secrets failed to crack the 500,000 viewership mark, landing at 481,000. It was the first in a two-part special exploring whether the serial killer, who murdered seven backpackers, actually committed a number of other murders.

Nine News beat Seven News 946,000 viewers to 904,000, while ABC News had 685,000.

For Nine, 60 Minutes had 626,000 viewers while Under Investigation – Encore had 282,000 and the Sunday Afternoon NRL had 243,000 viewers.

The ABC saw Grand Designs New Zealand score 428,000 in a solid night where Harrow had 436,000 and Silent Witness had 287,000 viewers. Sunday morning sports show Insiders had 295,000 viewers.

Weekend Sunrise at Seven scored 238,000 viewers.

For 10, The Amazing Race had 462,000 viewers while The Sunday Project had 397,000 and 10 News First had 242,000.

The Nine Network won the night with 35 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 23 per cent. The ABC (all channels) slid into third with 16 per cent, while 10 (all channels) had 15 per cent.

The SBS Network had eight per cent of the daily share.
