Smirnoff Launches First Campaign In 25 Years, “Infamous Since 1864”

Smirnoff vodka is launching a new campaign celebrating its 155-year history.

The campaign tells the evocative, dramatic tale of Smirnoff’s flee from Russia through France and the US. After its prohibition in Europe, in 1934 the brand was resurrected in America, where it was the face of both the ’50s cocktail movement and ’90s club culture.

The video was directed by film and commercial director Rupert Sanders and developed in partnership with creative agency 72andSunny.

It is Smirnoff’s first global campaign in 25 years.

“We’re so excited to share Smirnoff’s historic journey with Australian audiences…it’s a story that fans of the brand may be hearing for the first time,” said Maddy Stockwell, Smirnoff Australia’s Marketing Manager.

The campaign debuts on Sunday 7th February across broadcast, out of home, digital, music streaming, and social.
