Microsoft Gaming Blasts Off With Riotous Flying Dog In Christmas Ad

The gaming world has been abuzz with PlayStation 5 news in recent weeks, as we head into the busy holiday season.

But Microsoft – which owns Xbox – has now put out a riotous Christmas spot to remind customers of the fun gaming can bring.

Despite being one of the feelgood ads of 2020, the spot does not shy away from the hardships of the pandemic.

It tells the story of Rufus, a dog who can’t physically be with his friend due to social distancing regulations.

Rufus soon dozes off and starts dreaming about all of the epic adventures he could be having with his mate, while also promoting a range of Microsoft gaming titles such as Halo, Minecraft and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

You can see it below here.

“This year more the ever, we felt it was important to give people a little lift, to remind them that while we are facing a lot of challenges, there are many ways we can connect, be productive and enjoy the time we have at home,” said Microsoft corporate VP of brand, advertising and research Kathleen Hall.

To coincide with the launch of the ad, Microsoft has launched Dogtopia as a free download available from Minecraft Marketplace and for Java.
