Glorious Prada Website Bungle Sees $2,500 Handbags Listed For A $32 Dollar Steal

Crowds of shoppers by the Prada store in the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy. Founded in 1903 in Milan, Prada is a world famous maker and retailer of high end leather goods and fashion.

Prada Japan’s website suffered serious technical issues after displaying heavily discount prices on its online store last week, which saw handbags that normally retail for around $2,500 accidentally slashed to just $32.

New collection items were sold on the Japanese website for as little as 500 Japanese Yen ($AU6).

Customers quickly took to Twitter to share screenshots of their online carts, with one customer attempting to buy two of the new Saffiano leather tote bags (AU$2,300) for ¥2000 each ($AU25).

It wasn’t just new items that were wrongly discounted, with many of Prada’s staple collections similarily slashed to insane prices.

After it realised the error, Prada Japan issues a statement on Twitter saying: “Currently, there is a problem with the price display at the Prada official online store, and it is not possible to purchase.”

“We are working toward recovery. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.”

However, it took 24 hours for the problem to be fixed, causing Prada Japan to issue another apology.

“The price display problem that occurred in the official Prada online store has been resolved. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused,” it said.

Sadly, all affected orders were cancelled.
