“Tacky, Pissed Bogans!” Cup Reporter Licked & Mooned By Drunk Racegoers

It may well be the race that stops the nation, but it’s the behaviour of Melbourne Cup racegoers that arguably attracts far more global media attention.

Melbourne’s Flemington may have gone sans any spectators yesterday, but that wasn’t the case over in Perth where Ascot Racecourse had a full day’s racing in front of fans.

Channel 10 reporter Lee Steele was sent to the track to do a live cross but soon found herself set upon by drunk revellers.

In shocking footage, Steele is initially licked by a woman before being mooned by a bare bottomed man as TV viewers watched on.

Check it out below:

Social media quickly lit up in response to the unpleasant shenanigans.

“Channel10AU get your poor reporter the hell out of that disgusting mob in Perth,” tweeted one.

Another added: “A woman LICKED her then some drunk idiot mooned the camera. Is it really worth her health, being there to get tacky footage of pissed bogans?”

While another penned: “Props to quick reflexes of your camera person in zooming away from the bogan mooning at the camera and didn’t lose focus on the reporter.”

Meanwhile, OzTAM is reporting that TV viewer numbers were slightly down YOY for yesterday’s Cup coverage. Check out B&T’s reporting here.
