An “Intellectual Thickshake”: Ben Fordham Rips On Pete Evans, As Pete Viciously Fires Back

The spat between 2GB host Ben Fordham and ex-TV celebrity chef Pete Evans continues as the two names go back and forth in what can only be described as a savage online war.

The online fracas first started after Evans claimed during a Facebook Live COVID-19 could be cured with alternative treatments like sunlight in hugging.

The following day, Fordham called Evans an “intellectual thickshake” during his 2GB show, while also labelling his comments as “deeply offensive”.

As such, Evans took to Instagram to fight back, going as far as to compare Fordham to ex-A Current Affair reporter Ben McCormack, who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges back in 2017.

In the post, Evan wrote: “Both of these people worked for A Current Affair at Channel 9 and now both have either done a story on me or ridiculed me on their respective programs.

“I promote organic food, and a healthy long term sustainable lifestyle. Interesting to witness how mainstream media employs only the best to report stories don’t you think?”

In 2008, Fordham was charged with illegally recording a private conversation with a former Waverley Mayor.

The next day, Fordham fired back on his radio show, saying Evans needed to “get help”.

“You may remember that once upon a time Pete Evans was fine and normal. He had a job on TV but then Channel 7 decided they did not want a bar of him. They are happy to employ Schapelle Corby but not Pete Evans,” Fordham said.

“I’m here to make it clear that you were rattled by [my] criticism. That’s why you’ve gone on a Facebook spree.

“But you need to listen up. I’m worried. I’m no medical expert, but as you know, that should not rule me out from giving some medical advice because it has never stopped you.

“I think you need some help. I think you might be suffering from severe anxiety. That’s why you are attacking dead people. That’s why you are posting bizarre comparisons on Facebook. So take a chill pill Pete. Then again you probably believe in conspiracy theories about chill pills.”
